Beijing: no degradable plastic bags for takeaway

Beijing market supervision bureau released a detailed explanation of plastic pollution control work on July 7. According to the regulations, Beijing has banned the production and sale of ultra-thin plastic shopping bags less than 0.025mm in thickness; the production and sale of disposable foamed plastic tableware; and the production and sale of disposable plastic swabs. However, degradable plastic shopping bags, plastic bags are not included in the scope of prohibition, can still be normal production and sales. For the catering industry, the use of non degradable plastic bags is prohibited inside and outside the built-up area of Beijing, and the use of non degradable disposable plastic coffee mixing sticks is prohibited in the catering industry of the whole city. For the exhibition industry, the use of non degradable plastic bags is prohibited in all kinds of exhibitions and exhibition activities held in built-up areas of Beijing. (Beijing Daily)
